About Us

EcoErudites Uganda Limited is a leading provider of green energy solutions and environmental education. Located in Matugga, we are dedicated to fostering sustainable change and bridging the gap between communities and access to eco resources.

In 2023 under the UNICEF Youth Innovation Challenge, a group of passionate and determined young people embarked on an unexpected journey that would change their lives and their community. This diverse team, united by our love for the environment and a keen interest in sustainable solutions, discovered an opportunity in one of nature's most persistent nuisances: water hyacinth.

Water hyacinth, an invasive aquatic plant, has long plagued waterways, choking rivers and lakes and disrupting ecosystems. What most saw as an insurmountable problem, our group saw a hidden resource waiting to be tapped. Combining our knowledge of biology, chemistry, and engineering, we developed an ingenious method to convert water hyacinth into profitable products. 

The result was a three-fold solution: a renewable source inform of biogas for cooking and heating, nutrient-rich fertilizers that could revitalize local agriculture and highly nutritious animal feeds.

Our journey has been an interesting one. It has been a testament to the power of youthful ingenuity and a reminder that even the most daunting challenges can be transformed into opportunities for positive change including creation of job opportunities for other young people, availing green and clean energy inform of biogas to communities aiding the transition to clean energy.
